I’ve put these three paragraphs “at the top” to remind us all that it is from the heartbeat of God’s love that worship and action flow. The traditional name for “A Service” is the Greek word “Liturgy”; in English, “A service to/for the State and community”. With “Divine” as a prefix it has come to mean the Eucharistic Worship – A Church Service – at which God gives us Holy Communion, and from which we “Go in peace to love and serve the Lord.” As economic austerity brings tighter budgets the care and action of the Christian Church and other Faith Communities is not an option but, as it always has been, a duty, a Service, a work of Divine Liturgy, a Service to the State and Community, for us specially, by the sign of the Holy Cross, (15th September!) in God’s Name.
With prayers and blessings, Sincerely, David

In the coming weeks, please join us in praying for the Vacancy in See and all those involved in appointing a new Bishop of Bath & Wells:
“Faithful God, in your providence you lead your pilgrim Church into new adventures of faith: Pour out your Holy Spirit, that all who are involved in the selection of our new bishop may be blessed with discernment, vision and wisdom; And that the one who is your choice will be anointed with all the gifts of that same Spirit to be a blessing to us in this Diocese.
